Environment and lighting effects research to establish a focus for the project
Determined that the environment for the floor lamp would be that of a personal office or individual studio space. The purpose of the lamp was to have an effect on both the physical space around it and the psyche of the user. The intention being both decorative and mood setting.

The purpose of the concept is to create a new and unique space when the lamp is turned on. The form and the openings for light on the extremities of the lamp, when extending from the floor to the ceiling of the space, gives the appearance that where the lamp sits in a corner there is a radius on the adjacent walls.
